Shoreline of Infinity #34

This week sees a new print edition of Shoreline of Infinity – which means another Noise and Sparks column from yours truly: ‘Ruth EJ Booth is Unwell’.

This column is a little different from the usual. I suffer from migraines, and at the point the deadline for this column came along, my most recent bout had also triggered vertigo, in what I’m guessing was a vestibular migraine. I was light-headed, exhausted, nauseous… In other words, writing my usual column was impossible. So, I decided to try something else. Thanks to Non-fiction Editor Pippa Goldschmidt and new Editor-In-Chief James E. Harding for going along with this.

Aside from the names on the cover (I’m particularly looking forward to new fiction from Vaughan Stanger, Lynsey Croal and L.R. Lam), it’s worth noting this issue also comes with a Q&A with Ian Whates, editor of Parsec Magazine (P.S. Publishing) and head of NewCon Press, who published my BSFA-award-winning story ‘The Honey Trap’.

In other news, at the weekend Charly Harbord and I sent the British Fantasy Society the content for our upcoming Special Issue of the Journal, Fantasy and Gaming. We can’t wait to see the proofs! More news on this soon.
